024. Puzzle Books

There's something satisfying about sitting down with a puzzle book and just wasting away a couple of minutes (or an hour!) just working your brain out :). Sudoku games break my brain for large chunks of time usually. It doesn't always have to be brainy puzzle games either, I love my search and find puzzle type games too! I have this Hawaiian vacation search and find game on my Kindle fire that I got when it was the free game of the day and I keep playing the first three levels over and over again hehe ;p

Right now I've been working on the same Sudoku puzzle for a bout a week in two minute intervals at a time, if I would have just sat down for one 20 minute session it would have been done by now but no, I couldn't just be normal -___- haha!

Stay Happy! :)

023. Collections

When I was little (in like third grade ish) we had a day where we were sharing our collections. So my mommy brought over my miniature collection. I had mini (very mini like barbie doll ish sized) Tea sets and houses and clothing and food and everything before real barbie stuff was cool and that mini. Anyways, the point is I shared my collection with the class and everyone was just kind of awed by the AMOUNT of stuff that was in my collection, it was small stuff but it was a lot of it and it was mostly different stuff. And I would love getting different stuff for my collection. It's a neat little feeling knowing that you're getting something new for it. :)

Right now I collect Spoons from my travels, Post cards from my travels, Pressed pennies (also from traveling, but this is from tourist attractions lol) Coins (The New Quarters with the different / special backs), and Hello Kitty Stuffed animals (don't judge me! >_< lol).

I love the feeling of acquiring a new piece for a collection whether it be from my travels or just from a trip to the laundromat, I always feel like I'm nurturing something within myself by giving into my collections. I don't know if that's a sane way to look at it or not but for now I don't think it's too un healthy lol.  Plus, It makes me happy :)

What do you collect? Anything Odd, Cool or Funky?

022. Going to the Theater

I just got spoiled by the manly man this past week and got taken to see "Wicked" for the first time evaaaaa and I've wanted to see it since forever and I absolutely fell in LOVE. It was NOT in any way my first time at the theater. I've seen multiple shows, including my moms favorites (Cats & the Phantom of the Opera) and I did enjoy them immensely, but it was nothing compared to watching Wicked. :)

But this isn't about watching Wicked, It's about going to the theater in general. The Old time feeling of the building (Opera house, symphony hall etc...), the costumes on stage, the intense work on the make up (hello Cats! O.O!), taking it all in is an amazing experience. Each time you go the show is a little different, and each time there's a chance that something can go wrong, so it adds to the excitement of the show :)

I dunno there's something magical about the theater :)
It's very different compared to the movies or tv or whatever.... and I think it's awesome.

021. Snail Mail (other than bills!)

Sending me a letter in the mail is one of the awesomest things that someone can give me. I like looking at how they write their "a's" and dot their "i"s and I like seeing if they scribble in the margins or if they underline things subconsciously. I think it's more personal than and email and that it takes a little more of a person to write you a letter than it does for them to just send you an email or facebook message. I think it's a beautiful thing that you can share with someone you care about, be it a friend or family member. I have two cousins who are currently my pen pals but I haven't written to them yet this month O.O. BUT I WILL, And I'll even spray it with perfume because they deserve a good whiff of something special in the mail hehe ;p

Don't you like getting something special in the mail? Something that's NOT a bill? Something from someone special to you, who you haven't heard from in a while maybe, and who took the time to write something to you? I think it's lovely :)

Stay happy :)

020. Postcards

I love postcards! Getting them from friends who are traveling for the first time or experienced travelers who are just sending you a quick hello is a great little change in the normal mail routine.  I love hearing the greetings of great times being had and new experiences that are changing lives.

I've got to mention that sending out a few post cards while I'm traveling is probably one of my favorite things to do while I'm out there, and I can't forget my "me card". What's my "me card you ask? It's the post card I send myself from everywhere I've traveled so far, I have them all collected somewhere sitting pretty just waiting for the day that I either collect them all together in an album all to themselves (double sided 5x7 slots) OR bind them together with two jump rings and turn them into their very own make shift book. I haven't decided yet. I've seen some cool Ideas on pinterest and this whole "smash book" type of mentality does fit right in. Then again I've been "smashing" since before I knew what scrapbooking was so I guess I'm just ahead of the curb lol ;p My favorite post card so far is one that I got in Florida I believe and there were two dolphins kissing on a collage of stuffs that they offer in that particular area and I wrote that the dolphins were me and my boyfriend tehehehe scandalous ;p (why yes, yes I know that's not scandalous at all people... that's the point of the tehehehe... do try to keep up. lol)

019. Traveling

The feel of the road. The feel of the ocean under you. Crossing borders and landing on new soil. It's all very exciting, isn't it? I haven't been on a plane (yet) but that will change by the end of the year (shriek!). But other than that I love all forms of traveling. And I love the actual act of traveling and just enjoying being in the act of it, of being somewhere new with different money and different languages or dialects and cultures and just feeling different.  It's beautiful. It makes me happy down to my bones. Getting lost with a map of somewhere new and just exploring the world.

And I'll be doing it very very soon *shriek again!*

Stay Happy :)

018. Long Telephone Calls

I usually give my dad and my sister a quick call when I get up in the morning just to see how they are doing and those phone calls only last a couple of minutes a piece. But there are some phone calls that last me hours and I love those. Usually it's a friend or family member I haven't spoken to in a while, so it just takes us a while to catch up. But I love the act of actually TALKING to someone and not just having conversations via facebook or emails (although those can be great too in their own way).  Hearing their voices and their actual laughing out loud is great. Recently my long phone calls have been with my mom, mostly me interrupting her quiet time and demanding that she keeps me "company" over the phone as I spend time alone while the manly man sleeps or works (he's a night shift man). hehe it drives her crazy sometimes, but she does it so that's nice hehe.

Phone calls are awesome, they can be very therapeutic.
